A bridge between Turkish and Romanian.

Lexivo translates documents, contracts and technical files from Turkish into Romanian and back, signed by a certified translator, with notarisation and apostille through a notary’s office. And to people moving from Turkey, we teach Romanian, so they no longer need a translator.

LINE 01 / 05BOSPHORUS, İSTANBUL

This is what a line translated for the screen looks like. For 8 years, Olga Cristina Özarslan has been translating and adapting Turkish TV series for Kanal D Romania.

Romanian and Turkish share hundreds of words. We translate the rest.

Who translates

Olga Cristina Özarslan

At Lexivo, you don’t hand your documents to an anonymous agency. You hand them to a person who lives between the two languages every day: she translates them, signs them and takes responsibility for them.

Olga translates from Turkish into Romanian and from Romanian into Turkish: legal documents, contracts, technical documentation. She is recognised by the Turkish Embassy for legal documents, superlegalisation and apostille, and translated documents can be notarised and apostilled in cooperation with a notary’s office.

She studied architecture, so a technical specification or a conversation on a building site doesn’t faze her. She holds a trainer’s qualification recognised by the Romanian Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Education and teaches Romanian to Turkish and English speakers. And for 8 years she has been translating and adapting the Turkish series broadcast by Kanal D Romania.

Documents we translate

The papers that change your life, in the other language.

Some of the documents most often brought to us by people and companies moving between the two countries. Not on the list? Send us a photo and we’ll tell you.

How we work

A document’s journey, from photo to apostille.

Four stops. Some documents stop after the second, others go all the way. We tell you from the start how far yours needs to go.

STEP 01

You send us the document

A clear photo or a scan, on WhatsApp. Tell us which institution you need it for and by when.

STEP 02

We translate and sign

The certified translation, from Turkish into Romanian or the other way round, with the translator’s signature.

STEP 03

Notarisation

If the institution requires it, the translation is notarised in cooperation with a notary’s office.

STEP 04

Apostille

For documents going abroad: an apostille or superlegalisation, as the case may be.

Not sure what to ask for? Send a photo of the document and tell us where you’re submitting it. We’ll take care of the rest.

In short

Apostille or superlegalisation?

Two words that scare everyone. The difference, explained without the bureaucratic jargon.

The Hague Convention

The apostille

A special stamp placed on a public document, confirming that the signature and seal on it are genuine. Any state that has signed the Hague Convention recognises it without further checks.

  • applies to public documents
  • Romania and Turkey have both joined the Convention
  • usually the shortest route

Through an embassy or consulate

Superlegalisation

A chain of confirmations a document goes through when the apostille does not apply (consular legalisation): the authority that issued it, the ministry, then the diplomatic mission of the country where it will be used.

  • for documents or situations where an apostille is not enough
  • more steps and more offices
  • we tell you from the start whether it applies to you
Recognised by the Turkish Embassy

Olga Cristina Özarslan is recognised by the Turkish Embassy for legal documents, superlegalisation and apostille. When your document has to go through there, we already know the way.

“A drawing reads the same in any language. The conversation about it doesn’t.”

  • Consecutive interpreting at project meetings, negotiations with contractors, site visits
  • Technical documentation: reports, specifications, material specifications
  • Construction contracts and correspondence between Romanian and Turkish companies

Subtitling and adaptation

8years

of translating and adapting the Turkish TV series on Kanal D Romania.

A line of dialogue in a series has a second and a half to be read. It has to fit on two lines, sound natural in Romanian and keep everything the character meant to say: the irony, the tenderness, the threat. That is adaptation, not just translation.

A company document, a speech or a video presentation that needs to reach a Romanian or Turkish audience gets the same attention.

The rhythm of the line

The text comes in and goes out with the voice, so you can read it without missing the picture.

Two lines, not three

Every line is shortened until it fits, without losing its meaning.

Jokes that stay jokes

Turkish expressions are adapted into their Romanian equivalent, not translated word for word.

Try it yourself

Translated word for word, it sounds odd. Adapted, it sounds Romanian.

Five Turkish expressions. Flip the switch and see the difference between a dictionary and a translator.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us.

Ask on WhatsApp
What does “certified translation” mean?

It is a translation made and signed by a translator certified for that language. Institutions in Romania usually require this type of translation for documents issued abroad, and they often also require it to be notarised.

How do I send you the documents?

The easiest way is a clear photo or a scan on WhatsApp, at +40 722 315 273. Based on it, we tell you what translation you need, whether notarisation or an apostille is required, and how long it takes.

Can the translation be notarised and apostilled?

Yes. All translated documents can be notarised and apostilled in cooperation with a notary’s office. We tell you from the start whether the institution you are going to requires notarisation, an apostille or superlegalisation.

How long does it take and how much does it cost?

It depends on the number of pages, the type of document and the steps after translation (notarisation, apostille). Send us the document and you get the exact price and turnaround time before we start.

Do you also translate from Romanian into Turkish?

Yes, in both directions: from Turkish into Romanian and from Romanian into Turkish, including documents going to institutions in Turkey.

Can you come and interpret at a meeting?

Yes, we provide consecutive interpreting, including for construction and architecture: project meetings, negotiations, site visits. Tell us the date, place and subject of the meeting.

How are the Romanian courses organised?

In groups or one-to-one, for individuals or for a company’s employees. We agree on the format, starting level and schedule together when you enrol. Explanations can be given in Turkish or English.

Can I write in Turkish or English?

Yes. Türkçe yazabilirsiniz. You can also write to us in English. We reply in the language you write in.

Do you work with companies long-term?

Yes. Companies with partners or employees from Turkey send us contracts, correspondence and documentation, bring us in as interpreters for meetings and enrol their employees in Romanian courses. We agree together on how we work.

What does “recognised by the Turkish Embassy” mean?

Olga Cristina Özarslan is recognised by the Turkish Embassy for legal documents, superlegalisation and apostille. For documents that have to go through the embassy, we know in advance what is required.
